A downtown cityscape - perfect spot for photos, right? The movement of traffic, the buildings, the energy, what could be better? Well if it’s high noon in June, that means one thing - seriously bright light. So if we have to do couples portraits right then, we get creative, and look for spots with more interesting light. This shot above, from Sarah and Blake’s downtown Vancouver wedding last June, was taken after we found a break from the crazy bright sun in the form of a shady parking garage. I love the contrast of the bright green trees with the cool grey concrete.
In the end, I'm always grateful for the too-bright sun. It forces me to push harder, and look for something really interesting.
