...a lovely frame for the ceremony. Today, to continue our #31daysofblogging series (full disclosure: I'm taking weekends off!), I'm talking about backdrops. I love when I arrive at a wedding to find a DIY backdrop, like the one above from Sarah and Blake’s Vancouver wedding at the Brickstone Ballroom.
It set the stage perfectly during the ceremony, flanked with arbor vitae trees, and helped define the space where Sarah and Blake said their vows. I love these kind of backdrops for non-religious ceremonies, or outdoor ceremonies, or simply as a fun way to bring more of the couple's own personality to the day. And what it speaks to - the ancient traditions, of meeting before an alter to share sacred vows, feels timeless and romantic. Creating your own is a more personal way to reference the old.
