Emily and Ben had me completely cracked up. After insisting that they were the least photogenic people, Ben proceeded to completely ham it up throughout our shoot. This adorable couple met all the way back in grade school and have been together since high school (or, as Ben put it, he wore her down like Urkel and Laura…who doesn’t love a good Family Matters reference??). I’m really looking forward to their June wedding at the Ecotrust Building…where I got married!

I’ve been a bad blogger. One busy month and no posts! But that does mean there will be many posts over the coming week. Here are a few from Laura and Brian’s wedding, which took place at the Hoyt Arboretum on August 22. It was a lovely, low-key wedding on a beautiful day.
Congratulations, Laura and Brian!

I’ve had the itch to shoot some medium format for awhile, so I was thrilled when my good friend Manda agreed to model for me and my trusty Hasselblad. I’m going to be incorporating some medium format work into my wedding repertoire, and was hoping to try out a few things. We set out for Hoyt Arboretum, which, aside from being a gorgeous setting, truly does make you feel as if you’re in the middle of nowhere, even if you can occasionally hear the Burnside traffic just a mile or so away.
I have to say that when I got the film scans back yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised at how little processing I had to do in Photoshop. Yes, it has been that long since I’ve had a film work-flow, but I think I’ll be using it more and more as a supplement to the digital work. It definitely made me remember what I love about photography in the first place.
